Brooke is Enjoying Life

Since the last post, Brooke started limping. At first it was just for a few steps occassionally after she had been resting for a while. This went on for about 3 weeks and then the limp got much worse to the point that she really didn't want to weight bare on the leg (left fromt). Off she went to the vets to see what the cause was. Based on her history the vet felt that it could very well be arthritis and she started on metacam daily for 8 days with limited activity. After the 8 days on the medication we stopped it to see if the limp came back and it did so Brooke is now on metacam daily- a liquid on her food. This is very easy to give and not too expensive. We are trying to determine the lowest dose that will keep her from limping. Brooke is back to full activities including her twice daily walk and just loves to run in the yard every chance she gets.
It amazes me how she takes everything in stride and remains a happy girl. She continues to do well on the vetoryl for her Cushings Disease.
