Brooke had her yearly vet check the beginning of June and the vet felt that she should be checked for Cushing's Disease. We had an 8 hour Low Dose Dex Suppression test done and she did test positive. On July 26 she started on medication (only one accident since then). Brooke had blood work done after two weeks on the capsules to determine if it is the correct dose. This medication should help with some of the symptoms- excessive thirst, appetite and urination, as well as improving her skin, fur and overall well being. Brooke will likely be on this medication for life and need periodic blood work done to check the levels.
We are really hoping that she can find a home that can work with her issues and allow her to enjoy what life has to offer. She is a dear little girl who had a very hard life until Loyal rescued her a year ago.
