We are gaining Lilly's Trust!

Lilly is trusting me more and more. She now allows me to pick her up, brush her and will reluctanly tollerate some scissor snips. Over the last week we have been able to get most of the matts out of her fur and trim a lot of fur from her. She can see again! When she has had enough she will walk away. If we continue to try grooming she will sometimes snap to let us know she means it.

Lilly will sometimes twitch and pull away when touched unexpectedly and we often wonder what was in her past to make her tense this way. She does much better if we speak to her before touching, so she knows who it is.

Lilly does love to meet new people and has been good with any visitors we have had in (none have been kids). She is really a very friendly dog who likes to receive pets and to be with us, following us when we move around the house. Her real passion is being outside. She loves her walks and to run free in the backyard. She also likes to sit at the patio door and watch for movement in the yard. She is very quiet in the house and only barks when she gets excited playing with us in the yard.
