Lilly is back with us

We were away on holiday and Lilly was with another foster family for almost 2 weeks. She did well while we were gone. She learned to do a full flight of stairs and loved her walks. The foster was experienced and managed her quirks well.

Lilly seemed very happy when we got her into our car and she chattered away to us on the short drive home (see the video). Lilly needs a good groom and we started working on that today. She tolerated a lot of brushing and we got out a lot of matts that had been forming in her long coat. We could not see her eyes although I had trimmed them twice over the time she was with us. It was time to see if she would tolerate a full trim and we started by getting a lot of fur off her head and face. She still needs the long stuff away from her eyes, but that will come tomorrow or the next day. Then the legs and belly will need attention.

I actually picked Lilly up from the island today and put her on the floor with no reaction from her. We are very pleased that she did not back slide while we were away and that she has tolerated the grooming so well.

We are really hoping to get Lilly into her furever home soon, so she can start bonding with a family hopefully for the last time. She is looking for an adult only home that is quiet. She seems unsure around large dogs, but a well balance similar-sized dog or smaller would be fine. She could also be an only dog. Her special person should be home most of the time, as she loves to follow us around. Lilly is a quiet girl and is easy going except at times when being touched too much or being picked up. She is fine with some people, but less trusting with others. It has taken me a while to earn her trust. Lilly is a sweetheart just waiting for the right home.
