Our new foster Lilly arrived last Sunday. Lilly was an owner surrender! She was living in a home with another dog and two young kids. The other dog did not like Lilly and the kids were too much for her. Lilly was spayed and was brought up to dates on her shots, but missed her ride to foster care and lived with a veterinary clinic employee for close to 2 weeks while she recovered from surgery and waited for the next transport. This worker says "I’m the person that took Lilly in and fell in love with her."
We are finding that Lilly is somewhat skittish in certain situations and she certainly has her favourite people. She follows me around like a shadow, but does not like her feet or underside touched by me. However she will allow others to pick her up, put a harness on her etc. with no issues. I am taking it slowly to allow her to learn to trust me as well.
Lilly loves to go for walks and allows me to get her leash attached to her collar and prances out the door.
Stay tuned for updates on this sweet girl.
