Penny Saw the Vet

Penny saw the vet yesterday to check on her cardiac issues and to have her ears looked at. She seems to be doing very well on the diuretic and has had the dose decreased by half. Her cough disappeared about two days after starting on lasix and we have not heard it all in the last 2 weeks. Penny is getting more active by the day and we have slowly increased our walks so that she can now go around the block with no trouble at all.
The vet tried to look at her ears. Penny is very resistant to having anything done with them and the vet was not able to see past the black gunk. Penny's ears were filled with the black discharge which we have been steadily trying to wash out of her ears. We are making slow progress and are to keep washing the ears and swabbing out what we can. When they are clean, she will have them checked out properly.
Penny is a happy little girl and greets us enthusiastically even after being gone a short time.
