My Foster Dogs: Meet Reagan and Fritz

On Sunday July 8th Reagan and Fritz arrived at our home, right out of a puppy mill, where they had been kept for their entire life. Reagan is a 9 year old female yorkie mix and Fritz is am 11 year old Biewer Terrier (bred from yorkies to have 3 distinct colours). They both were altered, had dentals done and all shots brought up to date. They both had eye infections, and Reagan had an ear infection and they came with antibiotics, which are now finished.
Reagan weighs 5.1 lbs and is thin. She is very timid and sticks to Fritz. Quick movements and loud noises send her running. She has picked a big dog bed as her safety zone and will jump in it when something frightens her. In the 2 weeks that we have had her she has come quite a long ways. Although still quite skittish she really wants to come to us and is never far away. We are working on house training, getting used to the leash and doing stairs. She is slowly progressing and does seem to have a sweet nature.
Fritz weighs 5 lbs and is very thin. He is much more social and is learning things more quickly. They may not have come from the same mill as Fritz is much more trusting of people, loves to be picked up and petted. He is doing well at house training, has mastered 3 stairs to get on/off the couch and deck, and will move around a bit on leash, He is curious in the yard and explores around and will follow me back up the steps and into the house now.
These two have a lot to learn, but are very sweet little dogs who will make great little companions.
