Update on Wee Ethel

Ethel had surgery on the lumps on her belly on May 16th. All went well, but because a couple of the lumps looked suspicious to the vet, Loyal rescue sent them off to be biopsied. Ethel's recovery has gone well. She freaked out when we tried putting a cone on her to prevent her licking the sutures. She flopped all over the floor, pawing at the cone. We tried two or three more times with the same result, so I got a couple of onsies for her. These not only prevented her from licking, but also looked very cute on her. Today we got the great news that all lumps were benign and are called Mammary Adenomas. She may develop more of these in the future, but they do not become maligant. Hurray for Ethel!
The very best news, is that she has an application going and may be adopted soon. She is becoming so loving and just loves to have belly rubs. She also was with an older lab with no issues a week ago, which is a big step for her. Life is looking good for Ethel. Fingers crossed!
