Meet Toby- Our house guest for a few hours
We got a call from Loyal Rescue asking if we could pick up a dog in Napanee and hold him for a few hours until he could be transported to his foster home. We picked Toby up and brought him home. We were warned that he didn't care for men, so we were careful about Gerrit interacting with him. Toby was quite timid at first, but also very curious and he quickly checked out his surroundings, stopping at each of us to get a pet. If we moved our arms too quickly he would turn away ducking, but after 15 minutes he was coming to us eagerly. He enjoyed the yard and did his business, then cuddled with me on the couch. Within the first hour he would flip on his back begging for belly rubs and climbed on me to give kisses. Such a sweet boy. We went for a walk and met a cat. Toby was very interested, but did not try to chase the cat. He walked fairly well on leash and used many of the light standards. We can't understand why someone who lost this boy didn't try harder to find him; he was a wonderful house guest and his ride came far too soon.
