Ellie is surprising us!

We really felt that Ellie would be at a loss when Tatum was adopted, but she has really surprised us. It is becoming apparent that it is people that she craves even more than a companion dog. Ellie and Tatum were very close and it was good that they had each other at the beginning, but Ellie is doing so well on her own now.
She loves to be near us and asks gently to be picked up. Once in my lap she settles in for as long as she is allowed to stay, sometimes a couple of hours. If I am busy she happily goes to her bed and snoozes until something better is going on.
Ellie is also doing much better dealing with separation. She will still pace, but the nervous accidents are almost a thing of the past. She is going 3 hours between trips outside and has been clean (or uses the pee pad) for 3 days now; the weather isn't helping much.
Ellie is hoping that someone who is a home body and is in need of a small quiet companion will come along and sweep her up.
