Mara has arrived!

We welcomed Mara into our home yesterday. Mara is a sweet little female yorkie mix who is very friendly and curious. She was an owner surrender when her owner could no longer care for her and her sister. Unfortunately no family member was willing to take the dogs and so they ended up at a pound looking for a new home.
Mara has settled in well. We have had a couple of walks around the block and she does well on the leash, the jury is still out as to whether or not she is fully house trained, she slept all night in a crate by our bed and settled in really well for the night. She is not eating much but is drinking well; we think she may have eaten people food as she seems much more interested in what we are eating than her kibble.
Mara had a bath and smells much better and we are working on getting her brushed and detangled.
She is such a sweet thing and loves to be petted. Stay tuned as we get to know her better.
