On Saturday Brooke had surgery to dock her tail. We have had problems keeping her tail warm enough during the winters. Last year she lost a tiny piece of skin from the very tip of her tail even with careful covering of her tail when she went out. This winter the last 1/2 inch of her tail was frost bitten and it became apparent that she would need to have the tail docked to prevent more issues. On Sat. she had the last few vertebrae of her tail removed.
Brooke is doing well post op. She still is having the tail covered when she goes out and her walks are still on hold, but we hope that soon she can join the other dogs for a daily walk. She is a real trooper and remains a sweet little girl through whatever is thrown at her.
