The vet also noticed that her hind end was weak (not surprising in a mill dog). We are working on this with 3 walks daily and we have noticed a good improvement in her walking/breathing over the last 2 weeks. Exercise is new to Brooke and she does not mind it at all and is starting to lose her rotund physique.
Brooke loves to play with toys on her own and tries very hard to tear them apart. She is somewhat at a disadvanage as her legs are so short that she can not hold on to the toy very well... but the effort is surely there.
Drew has a meet and greet tomorrow with her approved adopters. Fingers crossed that all goes well. She is a sweet dog who deserves to spend the last years of her life in a great family home. She even says she will have a bath and good brushing later today, so she looks and smells her best. What a joy to have in our house and so very good with Brooke. Good luck Drew!
