Drew arrived at noon on May 4, 2013. This lovely girl came to us from the Ottawa Humane Society and was an owner surrender. Her coat was very long and matted. The OHS shaved her nose and gave her a dental as well as all her shots. She was already spayed. The vet there diagnosed immature cataracts, but we don't notice any visual impairment. Drew had all but her two lower canine teeth removed (a lot of them fell right out). She is doing very well on a soft diet of soaked kibble and has just started to play again with soft toys. She acts younger than her 10 years and is a really sweet dog who loves people and other dogs.
We spent the last two days removing mats from her coat and trimming her up. We finally got the last of the mats removed and were able to bath her late yesterday. She feels so soft and smells great!
Drew seems to be house trained, sleeps happily in a crate at night and has the run of most of the house even when we are out during the day. She loves being outside and is very playful. She needs to be reminded of her manners at time, but seems to have had some training and walks pretty well on a leash. She will be a great addition to some lucky family.
