Wendy Lu Is Settling Right In

It was 3 weeks ago today that we brought Wendy Lu home. What a difference that time has made. She is making great strides in house breaking, leash walking and has started to learn some obedience commands. She only has an accident in the house every 2 or 3 days and can now walk to the corner and back on the leash. She is very comfortable in the house now and runs to greet us. She wants to play with Molly but is respectful if Molly doesn't want to. We are really enjoying our little girl.

 I like to play!

Wendy Lu had a busy day!

Wendy Lu had several visitors today and loved seeing every one of them. A friend came for tea and became a long lost friend. Wendy Lu very quickly curled up on her lap and lay there very contently loving all the pets she was getting. My friend fell in love with her and would have loved to take her home, but didn't think that her cat would approve.
Next came our youngest grand daughter. Wendy Lu loved playing with her and was very tolerant of the hugs she got. After school her sister came and Wendy Lu got more hugs and played ball for a bit. She is now one tired little dog and is sound asleep on my lap as I type.
Earlier today I was working with some of the pictures we had taken of her and she took exception to seeing herself on the monitor, growling and trying to get to "herself". Very comical!
She continues to be a very sweet dog, rarely making any noise, sleeping all night and is getting better at the house training routine.

A short video of my playful side!

Temperament- Quiet, Loving

Good with Kids: Yes

Origin: Missouri Breeder Release

Wendy Lu arrived in our home on March 10th and has settled right in. She is a six year old female maltese who was released from a Missouri breeder. With a lot of help Wendy Lu and a lot of other Missorri dogs found their way to the Canadian boarder via Open Arms Transports. They were met there by a fleet of Ontario angels who brought them accross the boarder and ensured that each dog was taken to their foster home.  Wendy Lu had been in transport for about 24 hours when she finally got home with us. She was a real trooper.
We have really enjoyed this sweet little girl... she is affectionate but inquisitive and as the week has progressed she has started to play with toys and is a natural at playing fetch in the backyard. She likes nothing better than to have a belly rub and fall asleep on your lap. She is turning into a real lap dog and at under 7 pounds what could be better!
As with most breeder dogs, Wendy Lu is not house broken yet but is working on it and she has started to walk on a leash. It won't be long until she catches up with the learning she has missed so far in her life and she wants nothing more than to please "her" people.
Wendy Lu is good with other dogs and everyone she has met so far. Due to her small size a home without small children would be advised. If you would like to adopted Wendy Lu or any of the other dogs Loyal Rescue has available click http://www.loyalrescue.com/  and fill in an application.

 My favorite activity!

Where is that ball!
